Cornelis Arie Plet (‘82) is a senior consultant with DNV GL Energy in the Netherlands in the Transmission & Distribution Technology team where he focusses on different aspects of HVDC technologies such as research & development in new testing techniques, quality assurance and failure investigations. He received a MEng degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and a PhD in Power Electronics & Power Systems, both from Imperial College London. Currently, he is technical coordinator of the EU funded research project ‘Progress on Meshed Offshore HVDC Transmission Networks’. He is a member of CIGRE where is active in several working groups on HVDC, MVDC and power system planning aspects.
