Project Pan-European system with an efficient coordinated use of flexibilities for the integration of a large share of renewables (EU-SysFlex) is financed from the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 under the call: H2020-LCE-2016-2017.
Eu-SysFlex will identify the future needs of the system to operate in a high RES context. This will allow to assess the relevancy of both sector coupling and storage as part of the solution for a stable and secure system.(WP2)
EU-SysFlex will design new products and services (based on future system needs) for system operation and asses the most relevant market concepts to procure and activate these services. The market requirements that originates from these new products and services will lead to new challenges and opportunities for both sector coupling and storage. (WP3)
EU-Sysflex will develop new tools and procedures to support grid operators to make use of the new products and services delivered by new technologies (such as storage) or sector coupling. (WP4)
EU-SysFlex will test and demonstrate different use cases related to data management, including cross-sectoral data usage. (WP5 and WP9)
Several demos will demonstrate the provision of different system services in different market settings, including both the TSO and the DSO. Storage is one of the main technologies that will provide the flexibility that will be translated into system services. (demo WPs)
